The Halberd is a remarkably heavyweight unit for T1, boasting armor and firepower on par with T2 frontline tanks.
Its laser deals up to 275 damage, laying waste to lighter units and seriously threatening T2.
However, each shot costs 75 energy, or about 93/s firing continuously.
Its low maneuverability and range limits it to a heavy assault/escort role, similar to the Sumo. It can reliably kill Dolphins in 4 shots, and assault naval/coastal bases while enjoying hovercrafts' torpedo immunity.
Halberds excel at taking damage for more vulnerable units while destroying anything that gets close.
Combine with Mangonels to soften up defenses for a deadly T1 pushing force.
