The Experimental Gantry allows production of Cortex Tier 3 units. While it has a hefty amount of buildpower by itself, T3 units require enormous investments of buildpower assistance to produce in any reasonable time, which usually means placing several Construction Turrets around it.

It also increases metal storage by 800 and energy storage by 1400.
