Swarm your foes with Overwhelming Numbers

Legion's combat doctrine leans into cheap, easily mass-produced units that tend to have weaker stats overall, backed up by stronger and more specialized ones to anchor their forces and apply pressure. Key features include auto-producing drone hubs; unique napalm- and cluster munition-firing artillery; and precision railguns that can overpenetrate killed units while simultaneously acting as anti-air.

Legion's unmatched cheapness and reliance on skirmishers and raiders gives them solid map control in the early game, but their T1 units do tend to falter in direct engagements with heavier troops. Full use of Legion's capabilities tends to require solid micromanagement, especially to avoid one's own forces falling victim to Legion's deadly napalm artillery. Their ability to field cheap drones with both defense structures and mobile units helps cover their flanks and disrupt enemy attacks, as well. The wise Legion commander uses their forces to occupy and harass enemy formations, buying time for their specialized, heavier units to be brought to bear.

Legion's air force lacks a traditional bomber, relying instead on cheap kamikaze drones and rocket gunships; in T2, however, their heat ray bomber is much more effective vs. land units and ships than others. Their land strength tends to rely less on broad lines of a single killing unit, and more on packs of nimble skirmishers with specialists for smashing enemy formations and defenses.
