Terminal Verge

“Out here, the body forgets it was ever flesh. The mind forgets it was ever alone. There are no laws in deep space, only thresholds.”

  • Keramite Pilot Seran Keleth, OT-3991 Flight Logs

Much of the Terminal Verge was briefly reclaimed from Independents during the Tenebrium Age, when abundant power and long-range control allowed Cortex to push order far beyond the Cerebrant Domain. When that era collapsed, many holdings were abandoned, leaving behind semi-independent factions, broken installations, and partial recoveries that never fully returned to the Chain. Today, the Verge remains claimed in name but fragmented in reality, a place where recovered ground slowly slipped back into drift rather than open rebellion. So the Terminal Verge is not a region in full, it is a threshold marking the farthest reaches of Cortex space.
