This entry exists because a report cannot. I was denied landfall on Perturiam Prime. House Taelith will not appreciate the absence of primary data. Neither do I.
The Driftmarked I am tracking left the Reaches without authorization, their signatures heavily degrading as they entered Null Space. Although some sigil degradation is expected, it should not be as quick as this. Someone taught them how to move blind, to hide from instrumentation. That alone justifies retrieval, let alone the research data they're absconding with.
To my chagrin, what remains is inference.
Locked in rotation, Perturiam Prime orbits a dual star. One face burns, one freezes, and between them lies a narrow, survivable band. From long range scans it appears cultivated and segmented, a deliberate scar of green wrapped around a hostile body.
Through a nearby independent flotilla and Null mercenaries, I was given three names repeatedly: Trimeras, Gireth, and Arkhonar. The same names, every time, although sources contradicted on who held which biome. No additional data to clarify if this is deliberate obfuscation or a sign of unstable governance. From my interactions with these Nulls, I assume the latter.
Their refusal to grant approach indicates three minor powers clinging to a thin habitable scar, posturing as sovereigns. Kings of anthills, squabbling over sunlit soil and frozen stone, mistaking their isolation for authority.
Scholarborne cross-referencing flags a former Scholarborne intelligence officer named Vatreyus Gireth, presumed lost with the Lux Terhal, but I cannot find additional data corroborating this.
The Driftmarked were not recovered, and the trail leads through Perturiam Prime, but I cannot say where it goes after. A sad day for the Continuum. This loss of material, behavioral, and echo data for House Taelith sets back several lines of research.
