The destruction of Gaia-BH1 hollowed out the galaxy throughout the following decades. Systems once supported by its abundance withered. Promises made during its peak became impossible to honor. Fleets were forced to stand down or float adrift. By the time the Ashen Accords were signed, the galaxy had already been irrevocably reshaped by the absence of Gaia.
