Vertical launch trajectory change.

Units and buildings that with vertical missile launch (followed a vertical ascension then diagonal descent path) now have a curved, U shaped trajectory. Gameplay-wise, these attacks are now better at avoid obstacles that could be in the way - such as walls and mountains.

Vertical launch trajectory change.

StarburstLauncher weapons as a category now follow a flight path that ascends, cruises near-level, then drops onto a target near vertically. Indicated by the new cruise_and_verticalize = true custom weapon param.

These changes allow for more predictable missile usage - they are interrupted by terrain less. Along with allowing missiles to hit statics behind t2 walls. Balance changes are planned but are not finalized nor released at this time.

Depending on how expensive / prominent the missile launcher is, the missile will follow a slightly different path.

  • Nukes and similar drop very sharply
  • Middle-range weapons drop on slight curve
  • Weak T1 or secondary weapons drop on a wide curve

The following units have been changed:

  • Paralyzer & Catalyst
  • Juno
  • All Nuke launchers
  • Thor emp missile
  • T2 Vehicle stealthy rocket launcher
  • Arbiter
  • Shiva
  • Hovercraft rocket launchers
  • All Nuke subs
